An all-female casting of Shakespeare’s gender-bending play, this energetic vision of an internet-free queer utopian Taipei blends retro video game animation with fairy-tale settings in a plot thick with hidden tidentiy, meet cute squee, cryptic messages, and family feuds. The film is bursting with infectious joy and silliness, but is sincere towards the blossoming love between Orlando and Rosalind/Roosevelt. A real heart-melter, especially if you fancy women in suits.
